How do you like to pouch cook your chicken?
We tend to cook our chicken breasts by putting them, with some sort of liquids and seasonings in a packet made of aluminum foil, and then we bake it for about 45 minutes. We tend to use butter, salt, and pepper, but we are looking something a little more interesting. I’ve considered salsa or ranch dressing, but I’m not sure they would hold up well, and what dishes they could be used in. So, if you pouch cook chicken what kind of liquid and seasonings do you use, and what dishes do you use it in?
You can put some cut up onion, carrots, celery in the foil, lay the chicken on top and sprinkle with salt, pepper, and dill weed, top with a few slices of lemon and a sprinkle of anise seeds crushed. Add a pat of butter and a tablespoon of orange marmalade and 1 tablespoon of orange juice. Seal packet and bake.
Other combinations would include chicken broth, squash, onions, peppers, oregano, basil and fresh parsley
Maple syrup can be used as well perhaps with chunks of sweet potato.
You might try poaching the chicken in a pan on the stove top in a small amount of chicken broth and then making a gravy from the broth. Best wishes
