My father swears that there used to be a device that would prevent a razor from ever going dull. Is this true?
He claims that he saw it back in the 1950′s maybe. He said that he thinks that his father had one. He also told me that it was something you could put your razor in and it would straighten the blade. He says that blades get dull because of the curvature of the blade after one shaves. He told me that maybe razor blade companies bought this patent. Have you ever seen one of these devices? I don’t think he is talking about something like a blade sharpener either.
Years ago, maybe the sixties, there was a commonly held belief that pyramids had magical properties, especially pyramids made out of aluminum foil. This was supposed to be one of the magical qualities; that if you kept a razor blade in a pyramid made of aluminum foil, it would never get dull.
All this was bunk, of course. But a few people really did believe it.
No way did razor blade companies “buy up” the idea of making pyramids out of aluminum foil so razor blades would never get dull. I think you’re father’s joking(at least I hope he is!)
Maybe he’s trying to test your critical thinking.
